Discontinued Perfumes
You may be sad to find out that the fragrance that you have been wearing for years is about to be discontinued. That means you are going to have to find something else. Though there are always going to be other perfumes that you will like, after wearing and loving the same one for a long time, it can be a bit hard to let go. Fragrance is something that many women consider to be a huge part of who they are, just like their choice of clothing, shoes, and accessories. When dealing with discontinued perfumes, there are some things to keep in mind.
If your favorite has fallen out of favor with its manufacturer, you are going to want to go out and get more right away, even if you have a full bottle at home. You do have to be careful when doing this, however, as getting too much discontinued perfume is going to be a waste of money. If you only go through one bottle a year, you only want to get one more. This is because perfume loses its freshness after a while, and will turn rancid on your skin. You are better off being practical about your discontinued perfumes, even when you know you can never get it again.
You may find a type of perfume in the store that you fall in love with, but you may notice that it is on sale because it is one of the discontinued perfumes that a company is trying to get rid of with a good sale. You have to use the same thinking when you get this kind. If you think you can wear one bottle, and it will last you a while, but then will be happy to find something else, you should go for it. However, if you tend to get attached to fragrances, you may want to skip over it and find something that you are going to be able to replace when you need more.
Perfume is always a gamble anyway. Some brands come and go quickly. Even if you buy something when it is first out on the market, it could fall into the discontinued perfumes line within a matter of months. Nothing lasts forever, but there are some that stand the test of time. Just be aware that your perfume could be discontinued at any time. That means you have to remain flexible. Love what you are wearing, but know that you may never find it again. |
